Chapter 5: Avoiding Fragmentation: The New Role of Platform Teams
As AI expands across infrastructure, security, data, and engineering workflows, governance responsibility naturally spreads across more teams. That shared responsibility is not inherently a problem. The problem emerges when there is no common operating layer to coordinate it. Without that layer, AI adoption can increase fragmentation faster than organizations can manage it.
