Puppet joins the effort to develop standards for automating software quality measurement.
MINNEAPOLIS, SEPTEMBER 8, 2023— Puppet by Perforce, the industry standard for infrastructure automation, today announced it joined CISQ as cornerstone sponsors. Puppet’s Chris Ganacoplos, AVP of North America East and Federal Sales, joins as a governing board member. Ganacoplos is a thought leader in the DevOps, DevSecOps and Continuous Compliance space.
As a governing board member with experience helping government agencies use CIS, DISA STIG, NIST, and CMMC to reduce compliance risk in public and private cloud infrastructure, Ganacoplos will provide valuable contributions to the CISQ roadmap.
“Agencies and companies want to deploy once and scale endlessly with continuous compliance across their environments,” said Ganacoplos. “To scale across multiple public and private cloud environments, they need a programmable infrastructure that includes policy as code to protect against critical vulnerabilities and weakness enumerations. Organizations are looking for ways to leverage frameworks that can automate and harden their servers to achieve continuous compliance in their infrastructure. The industry is long overdue for more and better standardization in this area, which is why we’re excited to leverage Puppet’s long history in software quality and deep understanding of the power of shared standards to improve security and innovation – not only for our customers, but the industry at large – through our sponsorship and my direct involvement with CISQ.”
“CISQ is delighted to welcome Puppet as a sponsor of the CISQ Governing Board,” said Dr. Bill Curtis, Executive Director, CISQ. “Their proficiency in helping technology teams solve the hardest problems in DevOps and reducing CVE’s will play a crucial role in the global deployment of CISQ standards.”

The Consortium for Information and Software Quality™ (CISQ™) is an industry leadership group that develops international standards for automating the measurement of software size and structural quality from the source code. The standards, written by CISQ, enable organizations developing or acquiring software-intensive systems to measure the operational risk software poses to the business, as well as estimate the cost of corrective maintenance. CISQ was co-founded by the Object Management Group® (OMG®) and Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. For more information, visit https://www.it-cisq.org/
